I love to look for unique shoes. Not funky, clunky, or too far out there to be called fashionable, let alone look good, but cool shoes that in my midsized town would be called sophisticated. So when I saw the Ed Hardy women’s shoes, mainly their outrageous sneakers, I knew these were right up my alley.

They are called “tattoo fashion”, which was intriguing so I did some research. It seems that the creator is Christian Audigier, who is known for his bringing the Von Dutch trucker hat into popularity. In 2004, Christian left Von Dutch and proceeded to create and launch the wildly popular Ed Hardy® brand.  He was granted the exclusive rights to the designs of Don Ed Hardy, who is commonly referred to as the “Godfather of Tattoo.” With 40 years of tattooing and legendary status among the tattoo community, Don Ed Hardy is known for his sophistication, depth and sense of experimentation. California native, he is recognized around the world for his technical brilliance and mesmerizing imagery.

With Ed Hardy, Christian not only created a brand, but a lifestyle of street couture.
